I did not drop from the sky, I was born...and that is my father Chief Timothy A. Falonipe. This man was a consummate banker, who retired from Union bank 18 years ago. Some qualities most of his children found confusing while he was in service were probity , accountability and integrity (all related virtues). He lived a modest life even as a very senior manager when bank looting was the order of the day, we had to live that life too. And we are grateful that the police have never come to harass us. These same qualities, coupled with selflessness and a absolute devotion to community service got him on the kitchen cabinet of the Ooni of Ife; he is a member of the Ife Development Board and the Chairman, Ajo Ife Mefeefa (the committee overseeing the 6 Ile-Ife administrative quarters). My father is VERY eloquent, he is an orator per class. I got the deep understanding of the relationship between depth of fluency in your native tongue and the fluency in English. You need to connect the richness of your native language before you can be an A-Class speaker of English. My father is a leader who serves selflessly and with integrity, He is my model in that area. I have these words that would never leave me, from him: "Boyenle, do not inherit prejudices", which could be understood as, relate with people on their own merits as assessed by you, not by someone else. A philosophy bound to my character till date. My father is not dead, I just want you to meet him, while he is alive!!!
