I did not learn about the Albany movement growing up in schools just down the road from Albany, GA, but in college from sources such as Howard Zinn. Not many are aware but there is a museum of the Albany movement in Albany, and it is quite informative, and even has some resources on its website. albanycivilrightsinstitute.org/ When I visited almost a decade ago, my tour guide was a veteran of this effort to bring civil rights to deep south Georgia. If you dont know this story, it is worth learning about at the links provided in the photo caption or if you can swing it, through a visit to the museum.
