I did not see much of Uruguay since I only stayed one day (two nights) and most of the time was taken up planning the next steps etc. Uruguay is a relatively small country with only around 3 mill people, but the little I saw was very positive. Its well organised, relatively wealthy, and with some good food. They have more cows than people, and as can be seen from the wall art in one of the restaurants: the cows are right up there with Gandhi and the Dalai Lama :-) Otherwise, I particularly enjoyed the wide range of bread and stuff provided while waiting for the main meal. If only other countries had something like that - usually you get nothing or some decidedly UNfresh bread...
