I didnt grow up in Albemarle but it was my mothers home town, and I spent many wonderful days there when we would return to visit. I am related to the Coopers, Parkers, Underwoods, and Burrises. My mother was Orell Cooper. Her sisters were Georgia Parker, Rachel Underwood, Thelma Burris. Her brothers were Ralph Cooper, Grady Cooper, Ben Cooper, and Pat Cooper. I have many cousins living there and cherish the memories of visits there and when they would come to Florida to visit us. My father, C.w. Bodie traveled from Pensacola, Fl. to Albemarle I when he joined the CCCs, where he met my mother. They married after he got out of the CCCs and lived in Albemarle for a while before returning to Fl. I have been following this site for a while and loved reading comments by people whose last names are familier because I heard my mother and her siblings talk about kinfolks and friends with those names. IF you know/knew any of my relatives, please let me know.
