I do not get how some people must get up and down five times and go back and forth in front of the band at school band concerts. Are we really at that point in society where people cant be expected to commit to 45 minutes of sitting down in their seats and watching the show? I mean they know when they go in that it is a concert and the expectation is to sit and watch the show. Right? What is so incredibly important that they cant, not get up and leave, then come back, then get up and leave again, then come back? I am beginning to believe the ability to focus on what is going on in front of you is linked to IQ. I remember once in college, the former President of the former Soviet Union (yes Mikhail Gorbachev) spoke at our University and it was much the same thing. Students getting up out of their seats and running back in forth in the middle of the man speaking. I have to say, the impression based on my observation of the students doing this was that they were not the, top of their class, scholar types. Actually, I got the impression these students may very well have never heard of the Soviet Union nor were capable of finding Russia on a map.
