I do not know what it is like to be transgendered. I do not know what it is like to be gay. But I do know what it is like to be in love; and it is the most wonderful feeling in the world. To be denied that feeling, to have love taken from you, is the quintessence of suffering. To deny another their happiness because it does not fit your framework of reality, is to sow suffering into this world. People chose to marry as a means for society to acknowledge the wonder that has been bestowed upon them. Where it once was of practical importance has now become symbolic. I do not know what it is like to be transgendered. I do not know what it is like to be gay. But I do know what it is like to be in love; and I wouldnt wish that feeling away for anyone.
