“I do not want you to be unaware, brethren, that often I have - TopicsExpress

“I do not want you to be unaware, brethren, that often I have planned to come to you (and have been prevented so far) so that I may obtain some fruit among you also, even as among the rest of the Gentiles.” (Romans 1:13) Jesus taught us that if we abide in Him, we will bear fruit. Each one of us is to bear fruit befitting the kingdom of heaven. This is a daily pursuit. Paul needed to receive as well as give. This is the way the kingdom works. We need each other. We are to be an encouragement to one another, knowing that the world will do all it can to discourage us. Lord, help me to understand that if I am to be a part of Your kingdom, then I must be a part of Your kingdom. Help me to realize that I must give encouragement as well as receiving it. You have called me to be in fellowship with those whom You have appointed – my local fellowship – in order to receive encouragement, chastisement and all of the things necessary to keep growing in faith. Help me, I pray, to understand that these things are essential and not optional. Thank You, Lord Jesus, for leading the way. Thank You for sending those along the journey who will hold me accountable to being the disciple I want to be. Help me in the full measure of the Holy Spirit to live this day as a faithful disciple, being one who encourages, as well as receiving encouragement from others. Guide me throughout the day in order that I may be faithful to this calling that You have given me. Amen.
