I do remember promising Ben Savage that no matter what, I wont be making any Chemistry jokes because the best ones are argon... But considering he doesnt leave me and start university life until tomorrow to undertake the unenviable task of studying for a Chemistry degree, I think I should probably be excused on this occasion... Anyway, aside from the blatantly obvious Im going to miss you and I love you very much no matter how many times Ive wanted to kill you throughout various points of our childhood, I dont think its right that I let you go without humiliating you a little, after all, it is my job... So, here you go. Obviously youre much older than me so you have much clearer memories of our childhood but one thing is constant in our recollections, were partners in crime, were joined at the hip and I cant see further than you, ask anyone who knows me, its completely true. Weve only ever had each other so I guess were lucky that we bonded so well as children. Ive narrowed the countless memories I have spent with you to five. You have no idea how impossible this was because Ive somehow or another spent virtually every day of my life with you but nevertheless, number 5: The time my seven year old self woke you up at 2am in Scotland screaming that there was a moth. I remember you frantically chasing it around before eventually locking it in the bathroom, then climbing into my bed to cuddle me until I fell asleep. Sounds pretty cute, right? Wrong. In true Ben style, you forgot to lock the damn bathroom door after you trapped it so we had a bit of a moth hunt on our hands in the morning, or rather you did because I was too busy hiding under the covers. 4: The endless school holidays we used to spend with Nan and Grandad in general. Filling our time playing in the summer house, picking the blackberries from the bottom of the garden, eating Nans infamous Italian based food, reading Grandad stories at story time because hed be asleep before we would be or making Nan cups of tea... I did tell her about the Sip and spit tests by the way, the secrets out, so its probably for the best that youre leaving tomorrow before she gets hold of you... Anyway, 3: It has to be Aerosmith, come on. I dont need to elaborate but at least with you being 3 hours away, you wont have to deal with me constantly talking about Steven any longer! 2: The time we went to New Brighton fishing and I got stuck in quick sand. Believe it or not, at 6 years old I was actually shorter than I was now so you genuinely thought I was going to die. Unluckily for you, you attempting to pull me out resorted in you getting stuck too... Although we just about escaped that near death experience, it wasnt long before we went to the Crocky Trail and I fell in the lake, resulting in you walking around shirtless all day because Julie made you give me your shirt to wear so I didnt catch pneumonia... And an unusual number 1...THE TIME YOU MADE ME EAT A SNAIL AS A DARE AND I THREW UP FOR THREE DAYS STRAIGHT AFTERWARDS! IM STILL NOT OVER IT! I think thats pretty much it for the humiliation... Anyway, you never fail to make me smile and we argue like brother and sister but I love you more than anything, Im going to miss you so much when you leave tomorrow but I know youll do me proud in university! I need first approval on any potential girl thats going to replace me or at least shift me over in your life though please! I got through this without making any awful Chemistry jokes so I guess you got lucky there... Missing you already, love you lots and lots and all that icky stuff, Dozie... At least one of us has some brains, hey? ;-) Xx
