I don´t access the internet often since I live in a remote village without internet access or a cell phone signal. When I get a chance, I like to use facebook to post Bible verses, voice an opinion, and to ruffle some religious tailfeathers with theological issues. As the founder of a Non-Profit called In Jesus´ Name, International, I was recently prohibited by facebook to post in the name of our organization. Apparently, some people don´t like it when Non-Profits use the social networks to solicit donations for legitimate humanitarian aid programs such as our project to open a drug rehabilitation center for children near Salvador, Brazil and the opening of our world headquarters in Detroit, MI. However, fundraising is an important part of administrating Non-Profit Organizations. After 6 years administrating a Non-Profit, I´ve decided to stop asking for financial support. I´ve changed my strategy. I had to change. People don´t donate like they used to. Not to under-appreciate those that have given to IJNI to support missions in Brazil. To our supporters, I am grateful and you can be assured of an eternal reward for the people that have received salvation through our evangelistic campaigns in Brazil. Charitable giving to Non-Profits has declined in recent years. Perhaps, this trend can be attributed to some Non-Profits that left a bad example. Maybe, it´s because the tax benefits to charitable givers has been reduced in recent years. What suprises me most is how a particular Non-Profit with over a hundred million USD in assets raised capital by saying the world was ending last year. At the same time, other Non-Profits with serious programs struggle to pay overhead expenses. Back to the reason for my post- my new strategy to generate resources for Non-Profit work is through book sales. Today marks the first day of a 5-month advertisement campaign for my 1st book entitled "The Keys to the Kingdom of Heaven - Principles for Spiritual Growth." As the title suggests, the book is about spiritual growth and will challenge its readers to grow in 7 specific areas. For each month leading up to the release date for the book (December 2013), I will post a key on facebook. In Christ, Missionary Jeffrey
