I dont agree with everything in this article, as it was obviously written by someone with a vested interest in dogs, but its a start. Despite what some members of this group think, dogs do attack unprovoked. If you are a victim of a unprovoked vicious dog attack, its important to remember that it was not your fault. If your child was attacked unprovoked by a vicious dog, it was not their fault. Feelings of I want that dog dead are perfectly normal. You are allowed to not like some or all dogs. It is not your burden or responsibility to recognize other peoples dogs triggers or stress signs. Certain types of dogs are definitely more likely to attack and cause devastating injuries or death. My friend Tony Solesky told me We are supposed to be our brothers keepers, not zoo keepers Tony is a dog lover. Im not. But we both recognize that people come first. The right of pet ownership does not trump my or anyone elses right to live safely from your pet.
