..I dont ask for much dear Lord, but I am desiring this piece Amen....Civil War Confederate silk embroidered 7-star Confederate First National pattern flag made from silk ribbons, all hand stitched with hand embroidered stars and 1-1/2 silk fringe on fly. This is a fine, well preserved example of a typical flag made by a mother or sweetheart of a soldier going off to war. Often called bible flags these small flags would easily fold and could be kept in a book. This flag has a small tag saved with it associating it to Confederate Captain John M. Weidemeyer of the 6th Missouri Inf. Apparently Mr. Flayderman at one time owned Weidemyers diary and letters and retained this wonderful little flag. There is a typed memoir of Mr. Weidermeyer housed at Pearce Civil War Collection, Navarro College, Corsicana, Texas. SIZE: 5-1/2 t x 15....
