I dont believe the NFL couldnt obtain an elevator tape that TMZ could. Fat chance. This Ray Rice incident is disappointing for many reasons. Men shouldnt be beating women. Period. To you guys out there saying she was hitting him, think about this. Hes a professional football player who can likely strike with deadly force. If you think thats a fair fight, remind me to call you a moron the next time I see you. The police were given all tapes from the hotel, when starting their investigation. Ive worked in hotels in my past, and I know firsthand that with an incident like this, ALL footage would be disclosed to the police. And the police, DA, and judge failed. Rice was not incarcerated, but rather, admitted to a program where he could rehabilitate. Thats ridiculous and preferential treatment to the max. Rice should be in jail for this. They all failed. The NFL and Goodell failed when they hit Rice with ONLY a two-game suspension (re: domestic abuse - not as strong a violation in their eyes as smoking pot apparently). The NFLPA failed by not speaking out against Rice and advocating a Zero Tolerance attitude towards players who beat women. Dude, should have been banned after that first tape was released. No one who cares about and loves their Fiancée would drag her unconscious carcass around like that. You think he couldnt simply pick her up and carry her, if she really fainted? The Ravens also should have cut him immediately as soon as they saw that first tape. But I guess the Ravens dont mind employing and making money off of people who should be in jail. To think the NFL and Ravens are just now seeing this tape (which TMZ somehow sourced from the police, but they couldnt?) is crazy. Come on. All of us men need to do better in standing against such violence. This is bullshit on all accounts. And Janay Palmer (now Rice, which is also crazy to me) shouldnt have felt compelled to take blame and express sorrow over her role in this situation. It never should have escalated to what it did.
