I dont care how old or young you are, pay attention to this! As a young sprout, Id always watch my grandma put her receipts in her wallet. I didnt know why she did it, but I picked up on it. Any of you who have ever been somewhere with me where Ive made a purchase have probably seen me fold up my receipts and stick them in a little compartment in my wallet. The other day, while checking out at Walmart, only with some personal items and a present for my brothers birthday, my total came up to $183.54 - a questionable total, but I just assumed it was right. Looking over my receipt to make sure I got everything, I realized something strange: I was charged for some strange items I would probably never intentionally buy. Totaling this up, I paid $71.42 (before tax) for someone elses groceries that I didnt even get! Thats enough money to more than fill my gas tank. My intentional total was $99.70 before tax, but instead I ended up spending $183.54. Luckily, the manager said I could come in and hed look at the surveillance cameras to see what I had in my cart at the time of purchase and give me a refund for those things Id paid for but didnt get. Lesson learned, ALWAYS keep your receipts, no matter how small. Lucky for me, I did, and I can get a refund. Dont lose money over other peoples mistakes! Thank you grandma!
