I dont have a sick bird, or an old bird, but I have one who has such an annoying habit. All bowls in all cages are stainless steel. Shiloh, my little annoying girl (CAG) and eight years old, will scratch on the bottom of her pellet dish constantly for hours on end. It drives me nuts. If I take her pellet dish out then she will go over to her seed dish and do it there. She doesnt do it with her mash dish or water, which is sometimes what she is left with after she has driven me to the edge. I know greys are scavengers, so have hidden almond pieces, dried meal worms and other surprises in her bowl, thinking she is bored, and that is like an enrichment thing. She continues to scratch constantly. Does anyone have a clue why she does it and how to stop it? She is healthy, is well fed, and a loving girl, except for this one thing. Thanks. P.S. Her seeds equal about 1 tsp or less a day
