I dont know how I feel about this..On one hand, Theyre protecting people from drunk drivers. My grandfather was killed by a drunk driver. My oldest son got his license and told us that the cops stopped him often because he wore a baseball cap. They told him that it was a red flag. When he told us, my husband said, Good, Im glad. Its good for young drivers to know that they can be stopped at any time. I think it does protect us and even my son had no problem with it. This young man KNEW he driving up to a check point on a holiday when MANY drink and DRIVE. Yes, its a violation of our rights but im torn on this. Killing someone is worse then being stopped at a check point. My son never had an issue with the officers..and they even liked him. *** Yes, my son was specifically targeted because of his age and wearing the hat...but I wonder if the young boys had been checked.....how many more years would my grandfather of had??
