I dont know how many of you used to read my page in the match day - TopicsExpress

I dont know how many of you used to read my page in the match day programme or get my weekly emails, but I am compelled to express my current feelings, so here goes... WHATS GOING ON? If I could answer that then David Moyes would be knocking on my door let alone Dimes door. I have known many of the players for a good few years now and the current level of belief in themselves and as a team is off the scale. Going to work - as Tom Brady said to me Well, not like normal peoples work! - is something they all look forward to, to training, getting stuck in and having a laugh as they do it. There is faith, belief, understanding and commitment. We - Sale Sharks - have been underestimated for years though in some seasons it has been our own doing, dodging relegation is not conducive to a calm life. We went through Directors of Rugby faster than I can get through a box of Jaffa cakes and thats saying something, and we were unstable at the helm and with regard to our crew. Mike Brewers attitude of stick and stick - no carrots please, Im insane - got us nowhere with players departing at speed. Weve always been that team from Up North, the prompters of the So, where is Sale? question, the kids form the wrong end of the street - not posh enough, not savvy enough, and considered not good enough. Well let me tell you this you doubting Thomass, national sports reporters, premiership clubs. We ARE Sale Sharks. We ARE coming for you. We ARE going to give EVERYTHING weve got be it blood, sweat and tears to get a win and to show you WE ARE not to be laughed at or belittled any longer... and thats just the supporters! I can tell you that our support DOES make a difference to the lads, be it at the AJ Bell or on the road. They can hear you urging them on, offering suggestions to the officials, waving your flags. There may have only been a few dozen at the very wet Rec last night but at least WE shouted for our team AND got to our seats before kick-off which is more than many Bath supporters can manage, still wandering in fifteen minutes after kick-off. That sums it up for me. Well were Bath and were going to win anyway so it really doesnt matter what time we get there, as long as we see the end. I am SO proud of the players (my friends), their passion, their attitude, and their dog spirit - it brings me to tears, and after the past few seasons they are of pride and happiness, not distress and disappointment. As a member of the Past Players Association committee, it will be my honour next Thursday to look after the players attending the Amlin Quarter Final game against Northampton Saints and I can tell you Im nervous already! If you can, even if youve got SKY, get yourself along to the AJ Bell stadium next Thursday. The tickets are for nothing, and many of the 2002 squad will be there along with the Parker Pen shield, and the lads need YOU, the 16th MAN to support YOUR team. Hopefully my voice will have returned by then. Thanks for reading, see you on Thursday!
