I dont like it when established comics perform on Last Comic Standing or Americas Got Talent, but its for a different reason than you might think. The thing is, I think these people should have a different platform. They shouldnt have to play by network TV rules and put up with the bullshit casting politics after all the stage time theyve accrued over the years, and all the miles theyve traveled to share their artform. Seeing a consummate pro like Wendy Liebman have to be judged on AGT is just weird to me. Shes already proven herself. Maybe comedy central should have some contests/tournaments/showcases, etc. for established comics who may not be in the limelight. Just my two cents. Would you go on LCS or AGT? I would never judge that decision, because everyone has to do what they have to do, but I dont know if I could do it. Id be curious to hear other comics takes on it.
