I dont like posting personal bullshit, but I could definitely use - TopicsExpress

I dont like posting personal bullshit, but I could definitely use some help/advise on this particularly shitty situation... Lets say you make a music video with your band. Everyone involved, band members, actors, camera men, etc are donating their time and there are no contracts. The video gets made through the collaboration of a handful of people, but one band member does the editing and has the original footage. That individual leaves said band and is now claiming copyright infringement when video is posted on YouTube. He doesnt own any rights to the actual song, and there was nothing signed by any of us to give him rights to the video. Even the editing of the video was a collaboration (with several emails documenting this). So how can he claim copyright infringement? Does him having the original footage give him any rights? If anyone out there has dealt with a similar situation or knows how the copyright laws would work under these circumstances, please share your thoughts!
