I dont like soccer either, but this is absolutely one of the most bonkers things Ive read in a long time. If it werent Ann Coulter, Id swear it was satire. Some lowlights: The prospect of either personal humiliation or major injury is required to count as a sport. I just looked up the definition of sport and it oddly contained no reference to humiliation or major injury. To say nothing of the obvious fact that both are indeed possible in soccer. Soccer is like the metric system, which liberals also adore because its European...Liberals get angry and tell us that the metric system is more rational than the measurements everyone understands. This is ridiculous. An inch is the width of a mans thumb, a foot the length of his foot, a yard the length of his belt. Thats easy to visualize. How do you visualize 147.2 centimeters? You...youve lost me here. What were we talking about again? (Also measurements everybody understands? Why sure, if everybody means only Americans.) In hockey, there are three or four fights a game — and its not a stroll on beach to be on ice with a puck flying around at 100 miles per hour. After a football game, ambulances carry off the wounded. After a soccer game, every player gets a ribbon and a juice box. All of her statements are so extreme, I cant even tell if shes being hyperbolic here. Quite apart from the laughably exaggerated characterizations of hockey and football, it would seem juice boxes are conspicuously absent from this picture: worldcupodds.info/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/Spain-World-Cup-2010-Winners.jpg And this one: totalbarca/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/132.jpg Articles like this are so absurd that they really dont merit a response at all, if it werent for the fact that plenty of people take them seriously. If theres moral decay in America, its because people like Ann Coulter arent willing to accept a nation with a diversity of faiths, ethnicities, interests, and yes, even sports.
