I dont normally bother with long range forecasts due to the great - TopicsExpress

I dont normally bother with long range forecasts due to the great number of factors involved which make long range forecasting educated guess work based on probabilities with a low level of reliability. All I will say is that this winter looks to be shaping up differently to last winter. It seems very unlikely that we will see the relentless storms we had to endure last winter and the chance of cold spells looks higher, although given how mild last winter was that really isnt saying much. The general consensus amongst the genuine forecasters (Excluding those who just post the same hyped up nonsense every year) is for January to bring the best chance of some real cold, but some think that late November into December may deliver some cold conditions. We shall wait and see. You can guarantee though that I will keep you up to date when/if there are real signs of significant cold within the more reliable time frames.
