I dont normally post anything political, but its almost election time again. Elections are such an important part of our democratic process, but I dread them more and more each year. All the negative campaigning sickens me. ALL parties and ALL candidates have flaws, no different than each of our own lives having flaws. If each candidate would focus on leading us to a brighter future rather than dwelling on the past we would be better off. To be honest, I could care less what party they are a part of. I would rather know their integrity and the character of their heart. With all the negativity thrown at each other, this is almost impossible to see any more. We have a party system so that we have choices to lead our country, states, counties and cities. We are still ALL Americans, so once in office, they need to make decisions that are good for all Americans and forget these political agendas. King David is considered one of the all time great leaders and you cant find many with a more flawed past than his. Why was David a great leader? (The Lord chose David his servant and took him from the sheep pens; from tending the sheep he brought him to be the shepherd of his people Jacob, of Israel his inheritance. And David shepherded them with integrity of heart; with skillful hands he led them. Psalm 78:70-72) We need leaders to shepherd us with integrity of heart and skillful hands. This isnt directed at any campaign or individuals, but politics as a whole. There are still candidates who run positive campaigns and are people of integrity. (Please dont use this status as a forum to bash or promote any candidate or party)
