I dont normally post things on here, especially about my family but I wanted to say THANK YOU to all, for your continued thoughts and prayers while Tammy Burrow Gerber recovers in ICU. Especially our good friend John Tingle, for coming out to the hospital and taking my mind off things for awhile and praying for Tammy and our family. They broke the mold with you our friend. I would like to say it is working. Ive never been a real religious man, but in the past few years through John and reading the Bible, Ive come to see there is a higher power in God and that he does listen when you need it. Tammy is still in critical condition and will be for the next 48 hours on a vent and being irrigated but her levels are coming back into check. Kidneys are producing once again and white blood cells are going down. Tammy underwent a surgery to remove her last ovary in what should have been an overnight stay that resulted in 4 days. She went back the next day with 20% kidney function and what they thought was sepsis and said she was extremely sick, placing her on a breathing machine that she kept pulling off, having to tie her down and pumping her with antibiotics. Anyone that knows my wife, you dont tie her down! That was probably the hardest thing for me to watch. After numerous tests, they knew it was fluid build up and went back in for surgery. They told us her small intestine was just barely scratched and it took several days for it to develop a pin hole causing the nasty bile and urine to fill her body. (That discussion is for another time.) All I want is for her to be healthy and back home. She has been the rock for me for the last 23 years and the backbone to our family. Please keep your prayers coming because they seem to be working.
