I dont often agree with President Obama, and I dont now, at least not entirely. Ill be honest, I did not watch his speech and I find it amusing that no major network even broadcast it. I will watch it and Im sure I will be disgusted by the rhetoric and nonsense that he spews. But I did pay attention to the talking points and I am seeing the talking points afterwards. The President did not grant Amnesty. He has no authority to do so. What he has is limited resources to devote to detaining, feeding, clothing, judging, and eventually deporting people who are not here legally. If I am in that situation, I devote all of my resources to the criminals, gang members, and threats to national security. What other option would be reasonable? As far as the remainder, without legislative action, you basically have two choices. Allow a shadow economy and workforce to continue to exist or attempt to bring them into the system where they can at least pay income taxes? Based on those things, I have no problem with what the President has done. Where I have a problem is that the borders are still not secure, the immigrants will get most, if not all or more, of the money that they pay into taxes back, and that there are honest, hard working people who have waited their turn in line who are being pushed to the back, once again.
