I dont often rant but here it goes, after watching the documentary Park Ave, money power and the american dream I find it odd how people see money, power and the american dream nowadays. Coming from a family where I was lucky enough to have been exposed to extreme poverty it becomes apparent that people will only get out of life what they put into it. Those that claim they werent GIVEN things to become successful are throwing a pity party that is going to last them their lives. It is obvious that if you inherit unheard of amounts of money you will be successful, but what is stopping a kid or family from achieving wealth,... themselves and their poor dependence on others. Stand up, be creative and persistent. Some of the worlds top billionaires had hit rock bottom (despite common belief). Some billionaires more famous than The Koch brothers and Steve Schwarzman, like Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg made their money off of persistence and their own creative ideas and had CREATED their own opportunities. Some people make themselves cyclically poor through their own pity, have a dream, be persistent and it will come true. In reference to the documentaries use of monopoly, if you give one player more money to start off with this does increase their chances of winning the game (life: the american dream: wealth) but this does not mean that through strategy and a loss here and there the player that starts with little can win the game. To win the game, you must try harder and truly believe you can win. So stop watching rappers on MTV and wishing you drove a Rolls-Royce and start reading book on your own, start studying, and learn how to make yourself into someone that drives a Rolls Royce. Ultimately dont put limits on your own achievement. Through this i only further my belief in business, people sometimes say majoring in business and entrepreneurship is a cop-out of a hard job like being a DR. or engineer or scientist (nothing against those doing so) but business (entrepreneurship) is a job or idea with no limits ( pay-scale), only how hard you are willing to work for and chase what you seek. In the words of my father, you will surely have to work for money at some point, but one day make the money work for you
