I dont really like how some people (Im looking at you Osteen) make Jesus out to be some sort of kind and gentle hippie. Jesus hung out with some pretty rough guys. Many of the disciples were fishermen, and if youve never spent any time around commercial fisherman, they arent exactly the sweetest people. If youve never hung out with 12 guys, you have to have a thick skin. Im sure the usual ribbing carried on. Peter, carrying a sword, chopped off a dudes ear. The only reason he didnt split the guys head in two was because he missed. Then weve got Jesus conquering the antichrist and his armies at Armageddon. Not really so peaceful sounding when the Bible talks of his robe being dipped in blood and all. Or the gathering of the birds to eat all of those who will be killed in the battle. Truth is, Jesus is both a peaceful man and a warrior. He is both sides of the same coin. I think its a disservice to him, and believers to only focus on one side. I also have a fever, so this probably reads pretty horribly. Im also not a theologian.
