I dont remember if I posted this. A face full of wet sad hit him in the face. Startled, he bolted upright. A female voice called out to him, Dont fall asleep! Come dance with me! He looked around and saw above him a starry night sky, a bright full moon illuminated the beach casting soft shadows onto the ground. He looked around and he saw her. He saw her and she was beautiful. Her bare feet shuffled through the sand, kicking up tiny clouds. She spun in slow lazy circles, delicate arms outstretched and head tilted back, as if absorbing the moonlight. A bright smile adorned her face, her teeth flashing as she twisted and spun to only a music she could hear. He followed her, running, but he could not catch her easily. She slowed down, her smile turned into a wicked grin. Her hair was a sheet of midnight black silk, reflecting in the moonlight, soft and gentle. She grabbed him gently by the wrist and pulled him close, her hand around his waist. Dont I get to lead? He asked. Not this time, she said. You were too slow to catch me. He laughed and nodded and they began to dance, waltzing through the soft sand. Her eyes. They sparkled with love and life. One thousand years of laughter hid behind those mesmerizing, dark eyes. She held him a little closer as they continued to spin through the sand. Her smile. It enchanted him. Her warmth. It... welcomed him. His worries and frustrations melted away. A soft glow penetrated his chest. He was happy. So, so happy. They danced and danced and his soul caught fire. A lump built up in his throat, something that he wanted to say. But what could he, a simple person, say to someone so amazing. The lump stayed and they kept dancing. Time passed and he felt wonderful, like he could fly. But he lost himself in thought, tripping and sending them both tumbling into the sand. They laughed and settled down, staring into the gorgeous night sky. His lips trembled as he stuttered to speak. Sierra, I... She leaned over and looked at him, her gaze captivating. What is it?, she asked. He stuttered and stammered, only to take the cowards route. Nothing, he sighed. She arched an eyebrow at him, but eventually settled back down, a contented look on her face. Silence ensued; a cool, comfortable silence. he wondered what she was thinking about. What was going on in that mind of hers? He tried taking in the sights and sounds. The beautiful stars. The waves crashing against the sand. The moon reflecting on the water. But he couldnt help but steal a glance at her occasionally. The way her hair fluttered in the breeze, the soft glow of her pale skin in the moonlight; the entire picture that she created entranced him. But what did she think of him? What do you think of these stars? she asked, jolting him from his train of thought. He stammered, not even able to understand what he wanted to say. Something about beauty and life and the human soul. She laughed. Lets dance again. Come on. He got to his feet to join her, he went to grasp her hand, but she leapt into the air, as high as can be. And she stayed there. She laughed and giggled and she soared through the air. Twisting and turning, she danced in the sky among the stars on a floor he could not reach. What is wrong?, she asked. Come dance with me! He shrugged his shoulders, a small tear trickled down his cheek. He whispered, I cant fly. I dont know how. She sighed and flew down towards him. She stared straight into his eyes, completely upside down in the air. She poked his forehead cautiously, then grabbed his left ear and yanked hard. He felt a tremendous pain across his face and he shouted. Everything became white. He blinked a few times and cleared his vision. And everything was different. The sounds... before they were dull, but now they were crisp and clear. he could hear birds in the distance and the leaves of the trees rustling. And the sights. There were maybe a dozen stars in the sky before, but now the sky teemed with winking jewels in the sky, only to be outdone by the moon, a giant pearl in the sky. he laughed and cried at all the beauty around him. She held out her hand and he took it, stepping into the beautiful night sky. The warmth inside him teemed with life, bubbling up into words he held back before. I love you, he said, as the sun crept up into the sky behind them. I love you too, she whispered back. And they kissed, as the sun painted the sky with the beautiful pastel colors of a sunrise.
