I dont remember the last time that my team lost in a sporting event and I wasnt completely upset and disgusted by it. One of the things that Rugby has taught me so far is that winning isnt important. The only thing that is important in any sport the the pursuit of self-improvement. The only way that a team can play to its full potential is if everyone is as good as they can possibly be. Am I trying to blame other people for the loss today? No. Am I trying to say that I played a perfect game? Absolutely not. Im just saying that the only important part of any sport is realizing what you did wrong and fixing your mistakes. I realize that some of the things that happened today werent ideal for our team, but considering the fact that most people who were playing for us today were either new to their position like myself, or completely new to the sport, I believe we played a pretty good game. I play this game because I love it and I have lots of room for improvement. I love learning something new every game. Winning has very little to do with the sport at this level. If you asked me the score after every one of my football games last year, I could have told you in an instant. I couldnt tell you the final score of any of the games weve played so far. Thats how I know that Ive found a sport that I really enjoy. I love this sport, but more importantly, I love this team. I wouldnt know half of what I know right now if I were with any other team. The guys here are dedicated to teaching Rugby to anyone who is willing to learn and have fun with it and I really appreciate that. Have fun at the social tonight guys and lets go get a win next week!
