I dont share a lot of personal info because Im a private person and dont get much privacy in my line of work...but hold your family close tonight. Count your blessings. Pray. Tell the people you love you care for them and always know things could be worse. I witnessed a family of five lose everything in a house fire tonight. Heartbreaking. The family thought they had lost their two dogs trapped inside, but firefighters pulled them out and it looks like they will survive. The dogs whimpered in both fear and relief when they saw their owners and were laid down in the yard next to them. I usually dont show emotion while out on a story, but I lost it at that moment. I guess that shows Im still human after all the tragedy, pain, filth and destruction Ive covered in my 19 year career. I will update this story when new info becomes available. Great job by Summerdale PD who were first on the scene and did all they could to get to the dogs and hats off to 3 different fire agencies for their response and professionalism. Pray for this family tonight and love yours.
