I dont think Ill ever forget this day as long as I live! My brother was all into wanting to play guitar. Our aunt could play like nobodys business. He and I both started taking lessons from her which led to us spending a lot of time at my aunt and uncles house especially on the weekends. We started staying most weekends and began to go to church with them. I started to hear the Bible preached and God began to speak to my heart. Our neighbors across the street on either side of us were both very involved in serving God and I remember looking out of my (Mickey Mouse) curtains across the road to their houses to see if there was movement, etc because I was afraid the rapture had happened and I was left behind. God was drawing me. I got up to the blaring alarm clock that my uncle always seemed to be able to sleep thru just like most weekends, we went to church that Sunday and (GASP) went back on Sunday night. I dont remember what the preacher preached or anything much about the services that day but what I do remember is the conversation we had on the way home from Bethel Freewill Baptist Church in South Gastonia that night. We began to talk about Jesus and his saving grace. Soon the conversation turned to our (my brother was with me) salvation. As we traveled up Myrtle School Road my uncle and aunt gave us the plan of salvation and lead us in a prayer and on April 2, 1989 in the back seat of a 1987 Mazda 323 down at the cruisers turnaround on Franklin Blvd God reached down and turned my life around! 25 years now and Im still amazed!!!
