I dont think beauty pageants will ever sit well with me. Openly judging a group of women in categories such as swimsuits is just another way society brainwashes females about the appreciation of their bodies. It disgusts me to listen to women discuss contestants after shows: whose thighs were too big/small, who didnt have enough breast, whose collarbones were pronounced, who had belly fat - and these are the mild ones. Human beings come in different shapes and sizes - there is no normal there. Society desperately needs to move away from the fixation on body image. For many persons today, the mirror is the only witness to the secret disgust they feel for their bodies.
