I dont think it is possible that any chief in the traditional councils of the oba of Benin,the Ooni of Ife,the Alaafin of Oyo,the Obi of Onitsha,the Oba of Lagos,to mention a few,will collect money from terrorists,and allow them cause mayhem on their subjects and go free without being punished.In Tiv land,clan heads,etc,have aided the Fulanis to kill their kinsmen.It is even said that,one of these chiefs has a son now aspiring to be governor of Benue state.In other places,this governorship aspirant would have withdrawn from the race to govern his state,and even tendered a public apology to his people.When chief Gabriel Igbinedion(The Esama of Benin kingdom),offended the Oba of Benin,the Oba did not hesitate to cut him to size.Lets note here that,chief Igbinedion is one of the richest and very influential Africans alive today,yet the Oba wasnt intimidated.We are yet to hear from the paramount ruler of the Tiv nation,and the Benue state government,that these chiefs who fought along side the Fulanis against the Tiv nation have been punished.I think that the late Aper Aku,the late Moses Adasu and senator George Akume(Ph.d),would have done better as governors,in solving this Tiv/Fulani crisis,if it had happened in their time in office.Those who dare speak the truth,shouldnt be labelled enemies of the state.I think that it is those leaders who lack direction,and who are gradually turning Nigeria into a failed state that are the real enemies of the state.Lets not be afraid to speak the truth,no matter whose ox is gored,for fear of our lives,because,if they send those thugs after us,lets be bold to ask them this question.....if you are that powerful,why dont you go fight the bloody Fulanis.
