I dont typically post much on this date as I prefer to keep my observance quietly to myself, but Ive been seeing several posts that elude to that we should all let the past be in the past, and also perhaps this day is being greatly exaggerated. That I Remember is just a cliché. For those that may feel that way, please watch this video. I remember like it was last week. The most vivid of my memories being witness to the live television feed of desperate people jumping from the towers. Just as vivid and heartbreaking were the families and friends holding up signs and photos of their missing loved ones in the days following, searching through the rubble with only a faint glimmer of hope for their fathers/mothers/sisters/brothers/friends/etc. survival. I wasnt there at Ground Zero, but I can tell you without a doubt (younger generation, Im talking to you) that not only myself, but an entire nation was in spirit. All stood glued to their televisions, horrified. In disbelieve. Terrified. Mystified. Angry. Weeping. And with that in mind, understand that nothing was exaggerated. We should all take a moment out of our busy lives to honor those innocent souls as well as the courageous heroes lost this day.
