I dont understand why many people tend to put statements on social networking sites about their future career. Instagram, Twitter and Facebook for example.. Description posted Future engineer Future doctor Future lawyer, etc. But since Im an engineering student, Ill focus only on those who write such descriptions - female future engineer. Especially on instagram. Making it a trend for female to do engineering - To have brains and looks. So that more guys will be attracted to you. And posting pictures of your lab reports, assignments dateline, industrial site visit/internship with captions female engineer to be or thanks to engineering life I have to stay home and finish all my assignments Why point out youre a female? Why point out engineering life? This is the path you chose. If youre on site with 5-inches of make up taking pictures uploading on instagram claiming how proud you are to be working in such field, but cant handle getting your hands and clothes being dirty, its pathetic. And not only engineering students have assignments. Students from other courses too, need to deal with annoying assignments. Bragging about the amount of assignments you need to finish but in the end you end up not getting good grades, whats the point? Just to show people that youre tough to go through engineering school? And to show you can cope easily being a female in a male dominant field? People can see youre smart, beautiful, etc without needing you to prove anything. So stop this female engineer to be bullshit.
