I dont understand why the lamentation as doctors withdraw services to try restore a system that ensures everyones role is well defined and the correct order is maintained. If you dont get the gist yet, the hospitals are still opened with other health experts who you can consult. It will be unwise to make a diagnosis and put in an order only for it to be up turned by a consultant in another field. That will be more chaotic. It is best to stay away as patients know their rights these days and litigation is for real. Trust me in court no one will remember any consultant but the doctor. Even if it takes a full year to resolve, it is worth the wait. Things must done right. If you are a consultant in your field, go and open an office and consult. As for hospital setup, the order already exists and we dont have any setup in our Colleges of Health Sciences to certify Nurses and Med lab people as consultants. Abi, is certification not required?
