I dont usually post anything that is too serious, however due to recent events in my own community, I can no longer hold my opinions in. This whole F$&@ the police mindset is becoming an epidemic and I feel that social media is the conduit to mass ignorance. I am starting to doubt the benefit of freedom of speech. When we were granted that right social media did not exist, the mere speed of communication has become toxic. I am completely disappointed at the lack of respect for law enforcement that has become a social norm. We are human beings, law enforcement included, and mistakes are made,I personally cannot comprehend having to be faced with the decision to end someones life when my own is threatened. In addition , how many of us have jobs that we go to on a daily basis knowing our lives are at risk . I live in a community where there is a true it takes a village mentality . Tarpon Springs has lost a hero... And for what ??? With so much going on in the world with the controversy over The Martin case and the Brown case, are our officers afraid to do their jobs? Again, I understand that things can go wrong and human error is always possible...but we werent there and we dont know if we wouldve acted the same way. All I do know is that I am grateful that I live in a country that has a stable government in place with individuals that vow to serve and protect. For those of you who say F$&@ the police... Go live in a country where militia roam the streets and shoot at will for fun, or do bombings of elementary schools because they can. Lets start a viral support campaign for our law enforcement ... Throw a peace sign up every time you pass an officer . Lets bring the positive vibes! Ok, Im done ranting...educated opinions are welcomed...all others will be deleted and ignored. RIP Officer Charles Kondek
