The humidity hit Ryder with a force. Noah wasnt faring any better with the climate change. Making their way to pick up the car rental Nathaniel booked for them. They both walked out of the airport to the stares of every female they passed. Ryder ignored the open stares for the first time ever in his life. His mind was filled of thoughts of his unwanted wife. Wonder if she was fat or maybe popped out a few kids. Hell shes probably shacked up with her lover and dreading this meeting just as much as he was. Ryder purchased a sim so he could still use his phone and punched in Nathaniels number to let him know they landed safely. He picked up after the first ring. Were here...yeah hes fine besides bathing in his sweat from this heat. Ye hold up. Handing the phone to Noah so he can speak to his Dad. Ryder scanned his surroundings. He knew his wifes village was on the outskirts of town. Noahs grandparents on the otherhand wasnt. They would have to take a boat to reach their place. The two things Ryder hated the most. Flying and boats. Noah handed the phone back. Listening to Nathaniels next words had Ryder closing his eyes, counting slowly for patience. His response was in a clipped tone when he hung up. They made their way to Aggies hotel to check in. They slept the rest of the day away, missing dinner. Jetlag got the better of them both not accustomed to flying. When Ryder woke up the next morning to find Noahs bed empty. He went into a panic. His bellow could have been heard by the whole hotel. Noah ran out of the bathroom scared tryna pull his pants up. Ryder realised he was driving in circles when he passed a house with a makeshift store in the front 3 times. Pulling in to get directions and a drink. Ryder called out for assistance. A tall guy walked out from the back of the house unsmiling when he glanced at Ryder and Noah. Ryders brows arched and so did Noahs at the guys judgemental stare. Me - Im tryna find this village *pointing at the note.* can you show us the quickest way? The guy stared at the note and then stared at Ryder through squinted eyes. Damn did he understand english. Me-can you point me to the direction I need to take? Ryders patience was wearing thin. Shopkeeper-ill take you. you a relative? Me-you could say that. Why? Are you? Shopkeeper-im a friend of the familys. Me-is that so...well nice to meet you buddy. So whats ur name again? Shopkeeper-im iosua. Alofas boyfriend. Me-really? Ill be happy for you to show us the way. Lets go in my car. Ryder waited for Iosua to call his replacement to watch the store before hopping in the car. The ride was quiet and the only time words were exchanged was to show directions. They finally pulled up to a house. A young girl walked out onto the veranda. Ryder tried to make out her appearance but she was too far away. The close she got the more Ryders breath caught in his throat at the sight before him. Damn if his wife wasnt a beauty. She wore a frown on her face not recognizing the car. Smiling when she spotted Iosua climb out. Ryders blood boiled seeing her smile at him. Ryder and Noah slowly got out of the car and waited for The two to finish their embrace. Alofa-who are your friends? Iosua - theyre not my friends. They were looking for ur house. Alofa pulled away from Iosua making the scowl dissappear from Ryders face. Alofa- may I help you? Me-i hope so. Are you Isaakoz daughter? Alofa-yes. Sorry are you here to see my dad? He passed away... Me-im not here to see ur dad. Alofa-oh...then... Me-im here to see my wife. Ryder watched the color drain from her face as she stared in shock at Ryder. Recognition evident in her eyes just before she passed out. Ryder thought it was a fitting reaction.
