I dont write much on FB much, but when I do I have a lot to say: It seems that the PA program I desperately want to get into may no work out in my favor. The applicants should be receiving either a phone call, email, or letters regarding the school decisions before Friday, Nov. 15. At this point, my hope is fading and came to a realization that Florida is no longer for me or my family. For the past 3 years, there was a constant struggle and fear only with hope that things will be for the better. I tried different ranges of jobs, including applying at the Hillsborough County kennel, librarian aid/assistant, HCC graphic designer, HCC administrative assistant, (even) a water meter reading position, DEP graphic designer, freelance photojournalist, and lastly working at Macys for small wages. With 5 years of college education and military discipline and experience that was all I could do. A decision to return to school at a much older age made me a better student: all As and nothing else in the past 1 1/2 years, though Im certain this is about to change because of the complexity of organic chemistry and college algebra. So this PA schools fail, this means Im taking just 2 more pre-requisites for the school in the Northeast who might consider me as a stronger/better applicant than Florida school system. Living here is overrated and with economically depressed metropolitan area like Tampa, I would question why anyone want to spend thousands of dollars to relocate and start their lives over. We sure made a mistake of following that path so DONT do what we did. Now well head back to our home in New York State before years end to where theres so much unity, job opportunities, progress, and most of all joy of life. Though I dread a black ice, lake-effect snow, feet of snow, corrosion to the vehicles undercarriage from rock salt, endless highway construction due to the corrosion, high tax rates, and starting paying for state income taxes, I still feel more at ease than living in the so-call transient Southern state. Ill get my much needed education back home and my family will be happier. The house will be on acres of land, more self-dependent, free of polluted air around our house, barking noises that occur at least 3-4 times/day, neighbor kids who have no respect to someone else properties (both homes or cars), speeding traffic whose fatalities are the norm, daily homicide, and dreadful traffic condition on the major highways. I wont miss Florida and most likely I will never set my foot in this state again. Period.
