I don’t generally get political but have made this exception. - TopicsExpress

I don’t generally get political but have made this exception. I have also sent a note in this regard to my Congressman, Aaron Schock. I have regained some optimism towards the future of our country based on Tuesday’s election…..and not solely because of the change in the balance of power between the Democratic and GOP parties. I fear the GOP will resort to some of the same, upper handed, tactics that we have become accustomed to experiencing over past years………the results are predictable. We now must, more than ever, develop a spirit of teamwork to fix the troubling problems that we all have grown accustomed to living with. That said, I feel strongly that folks like Joe Biden, Harry Reid, John Boehner, Mitch McConnell, and others, although experienced, loyal, public servants, should play lesser front line leadership roles as the country moves forward……..is that even possible realizing this groups current and prior appointments/positions? These gentlemen have too much history and power behind them that, I believe, affect the decision making process in a way that is not in the best interest of the country. I believe President Obama and both parties will do the country well if they can push the reset button and retool within the lines of authority such that newer, less partisan players, can be given more of a chance to lead. In similar fashion, I am hoping the newly elected Illinois state officials can also make progress towards correcting statewide issues……..establishment of a strong collaborative group that can focus on identifying the issues, setting priorities that are best suited for as many folks as possible and making it happen. My 2 cents for what it is worth.
