I don’t like tendering and neither do you I am sure. But in some ports like Edinburgh today it’s the only way for guests to get ashore and see places like the photo above as taken by Mr. Radu today at Edinburgh castle. There was some waiting time this morning as our lifeboats and ship tenders buzzed around between ship and shore ferrying guests to the pier. Low tide at the pier meant we could only disembark one tender at a time which meant some waiting time for the guests. Most handled it will and the staff and I kept everyone informed of course. There were a few complaints which I won’t bother saying too much about here except it is interesting yet again that 2188 people handle the situation with patience and understanding and 4 guests take their valuable time to let blast at the guest services desk. I just welcomed everyone back on board and thanked them for their understanding and with the sun shining and the first dry day for ages and with the bagpipes playing Auld Lang Sine as we sailed away, it was a wonderful day for many, in fact for the most. The pilot told me that they are building a pier here for the ships as it becomes more and more popular with the cruise industry. He wasn’t sure when it would be ready but I bet it’s ready before they build one in Grand Cayman. Off we go, sea day tomorrow and then Norway Wish you were here
