I drove to work this morning, I picked up a co-worker, and drove to the other side of the base. It was still semi dark out. So fn cold too. Has I got closer, and went thru the second gate to get to my destination, on the south side of the base, I seen a person standing in the middle of the road, in front of the gate (outside of it), the cars on each side passing them. I stopped, rolled my window down and asked if they were ok. The woman was not from here, and totally lost and looking for her place of employment on the base. She said she was looking for Supply. Well, I am part of supply but there are buildings spread across the base. I dont know how she got there, or how long she was there, but I knew she was cold cos its fn cold here in Edmonton today. I asked her if she wanted a ride to the building we were going to just around the corner from where we were, and hopefully where she was heading to. My co-worker knew the person she was going to work for. It wasnt far we took her but it got her faster to warmth. She was all dishevelled, and totally lost and confused. I feel like that almost every day on this base, begging for information to be shared. What has me totally upset, sad, and more, is the fact that no one else stopped to help this woman that was so out of place in the middle of the road, in the dark. Turning in the circles. Freezing. No matter what my issues are, extending kindness is a very grounding, humble experience, to remind me that there is more to this world than my issues. When I left the base today, I ensured my co-worker had a ride back to the shacks, and took two coffees to the people working the gates, freezing their asses off all day to help protect the base. Ive had it. I am who I am. I am a human being. I dont care if this is dirty laundry being aired. I know my luggage. I know my previous lifestyle and the drama that used to be a part of my life..but just because I express myself, and I am a passionate person, is not my fn problem if it bothers you. I need to get into some shit. LOL
