I encourage you to live a quiet life as strangers and pilgrims down here on earth. Dont consume yourself in anything but the Lord. You are called by God to live in the world but not to not be of it. We are not to chase after the lusts of the flesh. We are not to lust after the pleasures of the world. We are not to be consumed in entertainment. And please stay away from entertaining churches. These churches dont build your faith in the Lord. They simply amuse you and appeal to the flesh. We are called by God to be holy as God is Holy. For it is written, Be ye holy for I am Holy. 1 Peter 1:16. I encourage you to work for the work sake, and dont glorify your work and dont be consumed in it. Dont take your work home with you in your mind. God understands that you need to work and scripture sayest, If a man does not work he should not eat. Hold on tightly to your eternal life that has been given to you through Christ. For your enemy, the devil, seeks to devour and destroy your faith. He desires to make shipwreck of it. Hold on tightly to your family as the enemy wants to steal it away from you, too. He will entice you to work excessive hours to strive for money. And this puts much strain on your family when you are absent. Your family needs you not the extra money. They need a mom and dad that is there 100% of the time spiritually and emotionally. The family needs an attentive parent who has the spiritual and emotional welfare of the family priority one. As for me and my house we will serve the Lord. May this be our home. I encourage you to invest time with God individually and corporately with your spouse in prayer and worship and reading of the scriptures. If you are single, do the same thing and if you can ,find a friend that has a burning desire to serve the Lord and walk uprightly before him. Ask this friend to pray with you, to worship the Lord with you ,and study scripture together. This person may not be the coolest friend you could hang out with but it is the friend the Lord wants you to hang out with. And stay away from all men that walk in open disobedience to the Lord. I can assure you of this for certain, if you spend time with the Lord God you will draw closer to him and you will learn to hear from him in the quietness of your waiting on him. For certain,your faith will grow and you will obey him. If you spend much time in a sport, you will excel in that sport. If you train long hours in a profession you become a master of your trade. If you train long hours with the Lord in the school of obedience, You will live a fruitful, Spirit filled life with great contentment. You will abound in Christs living water.
