I enjoy going to the nearby mountains, whenever I get the chance. - TopicsExpress

I enjoy going to the nearby mountains, whenever I get the chance. I would go to Julian Mountain for their sumptuous apple pies, Mt. Laguna from where I can see the Saw Tooth Mountains in the Anza Desert, or in the winter time we would go to Big Bear or Snow Valley to frolic in the snow. These locations serve as a retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. I feel refresh and ready to face the storms and challenges of life, when I leave these places of refuge. There is a story in Mark 6 that describes a time when Jesus disciples were out on the Sea of Galilee in the middle of the worst storm of their lives. They truly believed they would die that night in the storm. But Jesus sees them in their struggle from the shore. In fact the Bible tells us He had never taken His eyes off them; He always knew where they were even when they felt alone. Jesus did what seemed an impossible thing in order to get to His beloved disciples – He walked on water! But even more, He got into the boat with them in the middle of the storm! Sometimes we cannot see the shore because of the blinding storm we face. And sometimes we don’t even realize we have taken our eyes off our guiding Savior until we look up and see that we think we are alone. But I have learned two things: 1) Our Savior is ALWAYS with us even when we do not feel Him, see Him or think of Him; and 2) Our Savior is always ready to “get into the boat” with us! He will go through every experience we face, always present, always guiding and always blessing if we simply ask Him in. I pray that we know the power of His presence in our every moment as we “paddle” our way through this and every day. And I pray that we will be a blessing to others as we serve Him in this place. “Lo, I am with you ALWAYS, even unto the ends of the earth.” These are the words of Jesus as found in Matthew 28. I would like to take this opportunity to extend my condolences and that of the ABASDA family to the Pryce and Josiah family on the passing of Sis Rachel Pryce. Every time we went to Old Road we always stopped at the Pryce home. I remember her as a warm and caring person. When it was time to leave Old Road she always had a small parcel for us to give to our grandparents. We never knew what was in the parcel and we never open it either. But my grandparents were very appreciative of the small gift. To the family and friend that are left to mourn the lost, I wish you Peace in this time of storm.
