I enjoyed kit-bashing PBL Sn3 D&RGW long caboose parts into Florence & Cripple Creek caboose #06. The F&CC had two of them. One seems to have been used as an inspection car for officials. Most of F&CC equipment was sold but the fate of these cars is a mystery. They may have gone to Montana. Good plans exist of these cars, providing dimensions. I based the interior one one existing inside photo and standard caboose construction technique. Same with the underbody, basing the brake linkage pattern after to a D&RGW short caboose. I used Thinfilm decals from a F&CC boxcar kit by Rio Grande models. A few extra parts were purchased from PBL andTomalco. PBL and (On3) San Juan Car Co. are both very cooperative in providing parts from various kits for such projects.
