I enjoyed the latest overlapping hour, especially the Bethel insights from Kam Deo. Our hall was run by elders from Patterson Bethel--a bunch of super uptight weirdos, with a few basically okay company men in the mix.Our congregations overseer would tell pervy jokes to young sisters out in service, and another would make outright cruel remarks, supposedly in jest. But no one seemed to notice. Visiting there was always made to seem like a privilege for the faithful few---I even got to eat a meal there--and see how many items one can have on any surface of your room (3, I kid you not) or on your fridge (3), etc. It was such a highly regulated life, only those who fit well into such a regimented lifestyle lasted. The young brothers came and went and there were rumors of extramarital affairs and much drinking. But if you were a Bethelite you automatically got more respect (and awe :-P ) than the average R & F. I hadnt thought of all that for years.
