I especially like no.6. Ive noticed how those who possibly receive the least attention, for whatever reason absolutely light up when you engage them in conversation. Im reminded of a gentleman last week who I knew was lonely, had had a particularly rough ride from birth with a very unusual story to tell. I gave him a cup of tea, we had a nice conversation, I showed interest. You may know Dale Carnegies book How to win friends and influence people and he tells of the importance of always making the person you are talking to feel important, interesting and listened to.
