I feel compelled as a 30 year old to write something to the high schoolers and friends of Brayden. I know that today must be so hard because now that everything is over and you have to go on with your days, its hard to know where to go and how to function without Brayden in your life. I lost my best friend at 18 years old, so I know exactly where you are right now.I prayed for each and every one of you this morning, when I passed the high school and when I had my prayer time this morning. I am so sorry that at your age that you are having to deal with such a profound grief. Please know that God has you. Its so hard to move on from this day forward without your friend, but it will get easier, I promise. You can carry Brayden with you everyday, in how you talk to others, in how you help others, in how you judge less, in how you are an encourager, a friend, a welcomer to every new person you meet. High school is a hard place to be, and you can be the light that Brayden put in each of you. Carry on his legacy by being a light to others and to Gods kingdom. Know that Im praying for each of you as the days go by. Your hearts will heal and one day youll smile at the sheer miracle of Brayden being in your life. If any of you need anything at all, Ill be there for you in a heartbeat!
