I feel like I need to break my Facebook silence to broadcast a warning of this individual. Scott, a friend of several years, stole money from one of his boyfriends friends and because of this his boyfriend broke up with him. With nowhere to go, we let him stay for a night, then two nights, then a week and finally agreed to let him stay a couple months rent-free as he picked up the pieces and saved up enough to get his apartment. When he moved out, I noticed a couple things missing, most notably a 40 lb. bag of cat litter that I had since Jack ran away. Jeremy texted him about it and he laughed, denying taking it. I then asked many friends and family if I had given it to them between mid-August and beginning November (the time he stayed and that I knew I had it in the closet of the room he stayed in) with no success in finding where my missing litter went. Since he has left his bike at my place, Ive been trying to get him over here so that I can give him his bike as well as talk to him about this and get it settled. After several attempts of letting him pick the day he can come over, Im no closer in getting him to commit to a date. Mind you, he only lives about 14 blocks from me so I dont see how theres any excuse. Now hes more willing to check his various social apps and make posts on Facebook than answer my texts. This is his calling card of when he feels guilty about something. He stops all communication. Mind you, this has nothing to do with the litter itself; this has to do with dishonesty and theft. I was mad that I realized it went missing when we ran out of the other litter, but theres no transference there. I am mad and disappointed that I have been friends with someone willing to end a friendship over stealing, especially when I welcomed him into my home for an extended period of time. If he asked, I probably would have given the litter to him so he can be prepared to receive his cat from his ex-boyfriend. Instead, hes now lost a friend due to his immaturity and dishonesty. I sincerely hope he learns to stop thinking of only himself and becomes an honest person.
