I feel my trip to the dermatologist in Boston yesterday was very satisfying. I have an acute/dermatitis caused by the driest skin I have ever seen! No need for steroids or other nasty oral meds. And the skin condition is not unusual in people with light complexions such as myself - she thought I was a natural redhead even.So I have a new regimen for skin care thick moisturizing cream/emollients and Vaseline... The doctor said it will take quite a while to get this under control because my skin is so beaten up right now, but it will get better. On the other hand, it will never completely go away but will be minor and liveable. Having a number of people on both sides of my family who suffer from asthma and hay fever also led to her diagnosis as there is a genetic link with those maladies.Cool. It has been 45 years since I was on Longwood Avenue - felt right at home.
