I feel the same way about people asking me if Im still nursing Tara Ashford. Everyone that sees Montgomery for the first time has asked me the same question, Are you still nursing? It hits me hard every time. My son was in the NICU for 10 days and they got him hooked on the bottle. We battled threw nursing for three weeks when we got him home. He didnt like having to work for it and he wanted the immediate gratification of the bottle. I wanted us to bond during his feedings not fight through them, so I stopped. I continued to pump for a while but then switched to formula, not that it is anyones business. I feel like moms want to compare how long you nursed with how long they did. It seems very self serving. It is a very personal question. I will never ask another woman that. If they feel the need to tell me, thats their choice. I have even had a woman cashier at the grocery store ask me. We have another one on the way and hopefully it goes better.
