I fell asleep watching TV tonight and when I woke up, I was almost naked! I looked on the floor! What a shock! My feathers were all over the floor. I mean it was not just a few! When I got up, I suddenly felt cold... on my skin! MY SKIN!! EEK...I am not suppose to have bare skin places on my body! Momma noticed that I seemed kind-of uncomfortable and when I went close to the fireplace to sit ( to get warm) she got worried. Then she saw the place on the sofa where I was sleeping. Momma said, Tori, you left your feathers on the sofa! And, I DID! On Monday I lost FIVE (5)... tail-feathers! on Monday! It was a little embarrassing because when a turkey girl looses that many feathers at once, we look scruffy. This is like the craziest molt I have ever had. It is December and the my chicken friends and I are all molting in a funky way. Susie and Connie both have big bare places on them. Dad put a heater in their coop to keep them warm at night and they have been coming in more during the day. To be honest, we are all a little gumpy too. Molts make birds crabby because molt makes us anemic ( my big word for the day) and that isnt good. We dont look very pretty either. :( I will get lovely new feathers I know, but until then Momma better not be taking pictures of me. :( I enjoy being beautiful and this is not my best look. Maybe my Auntie Rosalie will crochet a snuggie for me! :) I hope all of my friends and doing good and that none of you are molting this holiday season.:( . Love, Tori
